Save The Blessed Girl Child Poem by minnie mahendru

Save The Blessed Girl Child

I am nothing but a 'blessing' cursed
I hide within my mother waiting to be nursed,
I hope and pray for acceptance nestled in thee
From beasts who wait to pounce on me
To rip me, to tear me, to kill me.
I hope and pray for a small nod of love
Just a few more days, I am after all, your flesh and blood
I beg for love, I beg for pity
Please glance at me with a sighful of humanity.
I pleadingly count the seconds
I am granted by these demons..
From these monsters who stand with feet apart
With knives raised and teeth snapped
To suck away my life breath...
Counting the time for my death..
Together we bond, me and my life giver, my mother
As we look in fear at the raised scissor..
She is but a lonely and desperate woman
With tear filled eyes and an overflowing bosom
My heart beats mingle with the agony of my mother
As I lie in her, hugging painfully to escape the eyes of the other
But I wait in vain …
As I am plucked out suffering throes of pain…
At last I see the bliss of being held close to the heart
God hugged me close,
As from you my dearest mother
I depart.........
