Saving Poem by Lauren Miller

Saving

I would ask you to cry with me
but that would make two of us
I would appreciate you're apologies
but they really don't mean much
I would ask you to lay with me
but I would become ill at your touch
I would ask for your help
but I am in no need of a crutch
I would do a million things
But they would amount to nothing
I could ask a million things of you
but in all honesty, I could do no such thing
Do not cry for me
Do not apologize for me
Do not reach for me
Do not help me
But if you could do all of those things
I really think you're the only one who could save me
