Savior Poem by Arinze Udegbunam

Savior

i seek an older beginning and a new end
I pray for a darker light and a lighter darkness
I seek death in my living
And a reality in the midst of my dreams

Why are we burning the earth yet we want it cold
We have blinded our eyes and say we cannot see
We have flooded the earth with boisterity
Still we seek harbour in silence
We baricade our hearts with piercing thorns -through those thorns we stretch our phalanges for love

Look a saviour- a winged lion comes in a ball of fire
A lion with the head of a man
But our warriors impale him to the sky
An unknown brigand smothers the lone lamp in the temple in cold blood
And arnachy seeps into our viens like a virus
