Say Goodbye Slowly Poem by Dean Loughin

Say Goodbye Slowly

a heavy fog is looming within my spirit
the past remains a challenging force

how much longer do I have?

every day a cherrished gift
that I don't appreciate enough

are you here with me now?

I will not give up easily
my purpose will keep me strong

when will I know if you are gone?

take this evil pain far away
free me from the questions left behind

can you give me enough time?

allow the peace and days to come
so I may say goodbye slowly
to those I love and leave behind
every day, one by one
