Scars Poem by Kathryn Bickford

Scars

He said shut your mouth,
and let your heart lead.
So she opened her veins,
and let her arms bleed.

He said close your eyes,
look, and you'll see.
So she opened her eyes,
and saw she was free.

All the things he said & did,
they made her hurt, burn, and ache.
Yet the scars he left were forever,
to remind her how one could be fake.
