Scars - Poem by Amanda S.

Thoughts racing her mind
The voices
Insane
Beauty is fading
Letting go
Envy
Closes eyes
Tears drip down her face
Screams
Let me be her
Skinny legs
Help
Small arms
Losing herself
Finger shoved down her mouth
Puke
Tears
Perfect body
Destroyed
Recovery
Days
MonthsYears
Strength
Support
Together
Hap piness
The end is not near

Poet's Notes about The Poem

I am lately having a hard time with food yet again. I am a bulimic. I recovered about a year ago. Lately I've been depressed and that's how I'm feeling. I sat down and wrote this because I know I am going to never repeat my past. My mistakes from then are going to stay there. I'm stronger now. I can do this.
