Scars Poem by leanne creenaune

Scars

U step out slowly,
Into the world u see,
Only u step careful, like,
The first time ur free,
U mask the pain,
U make it work for u,
It is ur servant,
Make it take away the blue,
One slow step,
One day at a time,
U ask always 'why me'
No reason no rhyme,
Least u can stand,
Ur legs are ur own,
It coulda been worse,
So many stitches have sewn,
Scars are ur badge,
The pain is ur friend,
Wrong place wrong time,
U thought it was the end,
Not just the ones u see,
But the ones u hide,
Scars arent always seen,
In a soul that almost died,
The gift it bestows,
U use it for the best,
Cos without knowing why,
they coulda laid u to rest,
Dont ever feel sorry,
Dont ever take a dive,
U might be called disabled,
But at least ur ALIVE.
=)
