Scars. Poem by Johnny Smallman

Scars.

The scars on her wrist tell her story,
The look in her eyes tell me she's hurting,
When she walks with her head down I see she's insecure,
She doesn't know how special she is,
She never knew she was beautiful,
Those bullies made her this way,
Made her turn to the knife,

Change,
Things are different now,
The knife has all but faded away,
She knows she's special to me,
When I look in her eyes I see the love she holds inside her,
She feels like she has purpose in her life with me,

Life,
She has a better view of life now,
All because of one person,
All it takes is just one smile, one compiment, one hug,

Us,
The world can be better,
All it takes is a little work,
Will you be the change you wanna see,
Save one life at a time.
