Scir-Gerefa Poem by Keith Lankford

Scir-Gerefa

Keeping order in the streets
Protecting you and I
Sheriffs we keep
Turning a blind eye
To just who they protect
Just who they do serve
Century after century
Across the world

Co Intel pro
Should be a lesson to all
Protecting the establishment
Not the established law
Watching the men and women
As they work the day
Making sure the taxes
Do get paid

Royal officers
In charges of the shire
Watching after castles
The guards that they hired
Conquering the peasants
From shire to the reeve
From sheriff to the judges
Peasants cases they did plead

Scir-Gerefa
