Screams In The Dark Poem by Michelle Dragonfly

Screams In The Dark

When everyone screams,
Is anyone heard?
When everyone's blind,
Can anyone see?

Nothing will change.
Nothing important, anyway.
Not on its own.
People live, people die.
That's how it's always been.

Children scream in the dark.
Wanting to be seen,
Needing to be heard.
Stuck in invisibility.

But the world won't change.
That was proven long ago.
We're stuck here
On this hell we call Earth,
On this hell we call home.

We're only screams in the dark.
