blood pumping, searching for gills,
and navigated Maren's shoreline.
Nights I forgot
sea sickness.
Her least gesture swells,
on floats the sealed bottle, my heart, within her music.
One unresolved chord.
A note without resistance.
I've swum naked and come up with her on that sandbar.
I've drowned in that surf, kelp twined with our legs.
Let me hear her breast beating,
next to mine, moored to a barrier reef,
held together in one breath, one locked bubble
