Search For The Right Word Poem by BASAB CHAUDHURI

Search For The Right Word

I was taught that it was the first step that mattered most,
gradually with time, I realized that the last was even more important -
entering requires prior thinking, strategizing, engaging -
but once in, one doesn't know what awaits,
whether exit will be possible at all.
This is true for life in general,
or even for the onset of life -
the unborn does not know the world,
his fate hangs in balance,
what does he hold on to if he is born incomplete,
for no fault of his own, if he is so born,
and if he is taken care of,
even then the tragic drama that he has to bear all along....
do you call it life?

For no fault of life, life is crushed -
the reason is brushed aside.

How do I describe the theatre of the absurd?
Could you give me the right word?
