Searching Poem by Peter Seay

Searching

Beaten, broken, abandoned and afraid,
Searching for the one who will end all this pain,
Wandering across the fields so plain.
Will you ever find her?

Hours feel like days, and days like years,
Sunshine has long lost its relief,
You try to forget all your silly little fears.
Will you ever find her?

When, at long last, you reach the end of your trail,
Never feel as if you've failed.
One day you'll find her, and all will be right,
But until then you'll search into the endless night.
