Searching Poem by Jan E Smith

Searching

Tonight while all the world lay still,
the sky so dark, the breeze a chill,

thoughts flooded my mind. Do I know me?
Who am I? Who should I be?

A woman, a girl, a heart and soul.
Am I a circle? Complete and whole?

Have all my wounds from life been healed?
Or are there more still yet concealed?

And what of life? What of love?
The here-after and up above.

If today or tomorrow I did die,
would I be missed? Would people cry?

God please help me to be my best,
excel in life and ace the test.
