Searching For You Poem by Robert Beksinski

Searching For You

Fingering through the curtains

For a better view

The never spoken words

That could lead to something new

You were standing

On a cloud

In my dreams

To keep me from falling down

My eyes are wide open

The light is very dim

Music is playing loudly

My head is buried deep

I stumble through the streets

Unable to speak

And stop at a all night café

To see who I could meet

But instead I keep on walking

And never look back again

Eventually I’ll turn around

And run blindly searching for you

Just searching, searching for you

The clouds are gone, the map’s unclear

Which locked door are you behind

Do you even exist,

Or are you only to remind

To pour my loneliness

Into a small glass

A shot for love, a shot for hope

And another for direction

I’ll just keep on searching

Searching for you

This has got some sweetness in it, and also longing. Nice poem! Jodilee
