Second Wind Poem by Elliott Gilbert

Second Wind

You know that feeling one gets.
Not like after excitement or telling secrets.
But the feeling of being brain dead,
along with the total body slump.
Regardless, you are wide awake.
It's not just your body but also the head.
You feel like going crazy and start to jump.
For what reason you know not, and it's something you cannot shake.
It's almost like after some point you are destined,
and for me it's after three when I get my second wind.
