Secret Love Poem by Davina Vanessa Rivas

Secret Love

It’s wretched that my heart contains a burden
A trifle burden of a secret love
Even though my heart is great
And full of love to give
My spirit I assumed
Was stronger then this
I always kept my head in place
When it came to affections
But when you entered my life
Everything I thought I knew
Was only an outline
To what I would learn
Being with you
I love you most ardently
You even have me acting nonsensical
Once you are around me
I am incandescently happy
You truly are one of a kind
And I may never find an alternative person
With your kindheartedness
God has made everyone different
For some oddly reason
Of all of his creations I fancy you
If I lost your friendship
Let it be known now
You will never be replaced
You will always have a place
Inside my caring, loving heart
