Secrets Poem by Alison Harmer

Secrets

A heavy heart,
Is hard to bear.
While pain is a part,
It becomes hard to care.

Friends come and go,
Promises keep breaking.
I have come to know,
This smile that I'm faking.

Looking at me,
No one can know.
They only see,
What I choose to show.

Strength is easy to fold,
When things get bad.
I need hope to hold,
I don't want to be sad.
