See You Naked Poem by Nivaldo Bezerra

See You Naked

Usually after sex
I watch you glide over the mirror
Watch you covet yourself a bit
As your fingers slide beneath your hair
From crown to collar
And watch you run
The thick, black length of a thought
Clenching such soft wisps,
To pull the ends in fistfuls
and smoothen out the darkness.
I watch your head tilt,
Your hip meets an elbow,
And you turn yourself into one big, pressing
Question mark of flesh.

I sit in the chair in the back
Sunken in an earthy seclusion
To rise by a thought-
Watching the slow shifting metronome
Of the back of your thighs
Feeling entranced,
Wondering for a moment,
If I’d seen you differently.
