I hate you for everything you are
Every cell that makes you the scum-of-the-Earth
That you have always been.
I hate you even more
For teaching me to be
Just. Like. You.
As if I ever had a choice.
I just want to be different,
I want to be myself.
Why can’t I learn to do
The right thing-like everybody else?
You.
That’s why.
Every time I try to shine,
You drag me down and tie me up.
You clip my wings
Then blame me
For my inability to fly.
I will never turn out like you!
