Selfish Poem by Philip St. Cyr

Selfish

Play with my emotions
and It will all come back to you
neglect me when I need you most
but one day you'll need me too
I never caused you any pain
or much stress to bear
You saw things from only your point of view
You never seemed to care
about what I thought, or how I felt
too busy concerned with you
and I was always there in case
you needed help to make it through
I always made sure you were feeling alright
I took care of you when sick
I that you always would be there for me
but maybe I was tricked
You could never leave me
maybe you rather use me instead
I tired of keeping the stressful emotionals
bottled up inside my head
so I'm cleaning out my closet
and starting a new script
Either you re-think you're priorities
or I'll move pass this
If not maybe you can find someone else
who you call pull along on a string
who can do things I did,
who will make time for you and wait on you
I doesn't ask for a thing
Or maybe you'll be truly blessed
with else who stays faithful and cares for you
who does not have a one-track mind
and will be honest about and keep it true
I may not have been perfect, but I improved by the day
I tried my best to keep happy
and to keep you happy always
I always thought that you were special,
but now I've found out something true,
no one else could be that selfish
and still not have a clue.
