Separation & Distance (Shakespearean Sonnet) Poem by ashok jadhav

Separation & Distance (Shakespearean Sonnet)

Between us lies a space no map can close,
Measured in nights where longing learns to stay;
Each mile repeats the love it still bestows,
Yet steals the warmth that presence used to pay.
I count my days by echoes of thy voice,
By thoughts that cross the dark to find thy name;
Though parted now, the heart makes stubborn choice
To bridge the gap with memory and flame.
The hands of time conspire to stretch the ache,
Yet cannot thin the bond they seek to try;
For love, once known, no distance dares to break,
It learns to walk where bodies cannot lie.
So though apart, our souls refuse to part—
Love spans all miles and keeps the heart to heart.
