Set Me Free - Poem by Vanessa Kurtz

Tired of being let down, thrown around, all my life,
Fighting, hurtful words, being abused…all this strife,
Is there no end to this emotional, physical pain?
Is there no end to this horrible torturous game?
Bleeding, screaming, tears running from my eyes
Scratching, biting, to get away from who I despise.
Kicking, hitting, trying my hardest to get away
Will I ever be free from this evil some day?
“God”, I scream, “Please help me! Please! ”
All this abuse, behind closed doors, no one sees.
