You whisper this into my ear
But when I need you close
You always disappear

You say you really know me
As you reach to hold my hand
But you don’t know my soul
You really understand

You say you are my guardian
That you’ll always protect me
But all I feel is trapped
I long to be set free

Your strong arms hold me back
They keep me from flying away
You say you’ll never let go
That here is where I need to stay

You say you are strong
Well show it to me
Open your arms
And set me free
