Set Me Free Poem by jasmine muthoni

Set Me Free

Adriana, baby my wings are broken, my spirit crushed, empty and hollow my heart is.
Here I am there is a cloud of gloom, where you are the sun shines.
Remember my heart beats for you
Memories of you, thoughts of you
May haunt me
But I don’t dare forget thou
You´ re permanently engraved in my heart
The lustre in your eyes brings
Forth peace in me
In bondage I am
I long to be free, free to love you
Allow me this one chance
You chose to leave me yet I followed
Thee thy love so strong
Why loathe me?
Why deceive me and my heart
With false promises to love, cherish and for eternity be mine?
What satisfaction does it bring to watch my heart wither?
Twas you I wanted then still now and forever more
Yes, death may separate our spirits
But I dare say this
I will love you then when I cannot see you nor touch you
Nevertheless I’m still alive and if death cannot take the love I promise to bestow to you for eternity
Why run away from me?
Why fill my days with gloom?
In torment I am but as I promised many years ago to never let you go
I hold on to my words
I will never forsake you nor deny you
Whether you love me or not
