Set The Discord For The Gates Of Dawn - Poem by Mason Maestro

Set the Discord for the Gates of Dawn
Little by little the moon turns around
Counting the tides which tremble at dawn
busying glean on each human in union
Over the hills where a holly wood resting
Set the discord for the gates of dawn
Over the mountain watching the other
Breaking the darkness waking the mind’s eye
One inch of shadow over New Amsterdam
Love is the shadow that ripens the wine
Set the discord for the gates of dawn
Witness the man who arrives at the mosque
Bending to shape for his question to heaven
Whether the sun will fall in the evening
Will he remember the lesson of giving?
Set the discord for the gates of dawn
The gates of dawn...
