Sewing Mummy Poem by Jodie Louise Pollock

Sewing Mummy

She’s the apple of my eye,
She’s the idol of my future,
She can reach to touch the sky,
She can create an amazing picture,

She’s strong and independent,
She’s cool and mysterious,
I treasure her like the most beautiful pendant,
I wish she could see just how shes so precious,

She helps and she advises,
She understands and she never judges,
Shes forever making me laugh with her silly surprises,
Shes clever and knows what to make of held grudges,

She jokes that shes my Sewing Mummy,
She jokes that I’m her Little Mate,
I dont think she understands just what that means to me,
I dont think she understands just how shes so great,

She always has a solution to a problem,
She always knows just exactly what to do,
I know that no matter what she will always love them,
As long as they dont lie, they have to forever stay true,

Stupidly - She always puts herself down,
Shes forever underestimating herself,
But for her wisdom and acheivements she deserves a crown,
However, she leaves her own life success sitting on a shelf,

I know i love her with all of my being,
I dont know what i would do if i ever lost her,
Because shes there for me and helps with meaning,
Or she just listens if that what i need and prefer,

She laughs that she doesnt read books, just people, like me,
She sees everything as it truly is, like TV on pause,
So what other people are blind to; she can see,
She can see the affect and somehow she understands the cause,

But dont worry she wont talk about your life with strangers,
She wont do anything to make you lose your trust,
She protects me and wont let me get into any dangers,
Because of this, all of this, i love her so much,

So she has to promise never to leave me,
She has to promise; and make it one her own personal laws,
Becasue shes the one person i need and depend on you see,
And because, well, shes the mother mine never was.
