Slow..Deep..Floating. - Poem by Jodie Louise Pollock

The feelings cursing through your veins,
Your heart slows down into a slow, deep beat,
Your body releasing all the restriction chains,
Your mind, body, and soul finally meet,

Your arms free to fly as they wish,
The urge to try overpowering your mind,
No thought of how it could punish,
Your soul feeling while your eyes are blind,

The cream flowing down and filling your lungs,
Sensational taste as you keep it locked inside,
Your heart and mind filling with various songs,
The feeling of being lost flung aside,

You don’t know where you are right now,
The surroundings are no longer familiar,
But you don’t care because of that beautiful sound,
The sound of your heart beat loud and peculiar,
Slow...
Deep...
Right there resting in your chest,
Your mind glued to this one beautiful thing,
You can feel it pound against your breast,
Making your soul rise and wish to sing,

Constant beating alongside your profound breathing,
You can feel it work its way up to your throat,
Mesmerising flow of your heart as it continues beating,
Making you feel like, at any minute, you could float.
