Sex. Poem by Bailey Burris

Sex.

I don’t understand people now,
sex is the only thing that can gather up a crowd.
Pleasure and sin is taking over our town
And no body cares, no body’s let down

What happened to love? And feeling it first?
What happened to getting married before a child’s birth.
Sure, I’m a hypocrite, but I regret not loving first.
Sex is the one thing, that used to be of worth.

It used to be a gift, something only for the one
And now it’s nothing, just the center of a pun.
A selfish desire, between you and a stranger.
Cambamonenightstand? Really? Come on, that screams danger.

But girls don’t care, diseases are everywhere.
What’s another, to greaten the collection, for your connection.
How are boys supposed to like you for you
If all you are is a erection.

I’m done here, im getting out, please don’t ask me if I will help you out.
What kind of friend asks another, to hook them up with a total stranger.
I don’t get you, I don’t understand this behavior.
I still love you, but you need a savior.

That’s the answer that we need to see,
Jesus is the passion that we should be wanting
And when you see that possibility,
There’s no room for all those other things.
