Sex And Love Poem by Claudia Warzecha

Sex And Love

Love please call upon me, invite me in to stay,
so that I may be drawn to drown within your tender
passionate, soothing arms.

Let me connect with heaven, my home left so long ago,
so that I may remember my longing, for which
the time has not yet come.

For here, the days are gray and dark, confusion rules
the wondering mind of what love is, true love
within our hearts and where to find it.

We buy it, wrapped in fragrant bottles everywhere, it flares
up on the TV screen, illuminates the Web, so that
our bodies are all covered in the likes of it.

Love bought straight out of magazines, paid for it by the hour
on quiet streets at night, found on beaches cocktail
in hand, fake smiles caressing the faces.

We trade it in for passion, to ignite the sensual
imagination, so that we wake like drunken fools,
dissatisfied to an empty experience within.

Infatuation is the net, which casts obsession upon many,
as we wander in the desert’s desolated vast land,
for love is nonexistent.

Why does desire rule our senses, impulses of arousal
steer the brain, a roller coaster ride, in climax
short and fleeting, calling continuous repeating.

Addicts of desire, pleasures for the taking, craving
bigger, electrifying sensations, upon the encounters
we devour to return in the end to the emptiness within.

A never-ending cycle of the senses, like pawns
in the game of chess dying, swallowed whole
devoured to drown within our self made fantasies.

Lying there within the illusions of our selves, we might
find a new dimension enter our sight and learn when trading
passion for compassion, true LOVE can rule our mind.
