Your heart was so broken that I let you in,
Never thinking love could break me again,
But your kind words and gentle whispers,
Relight my heart’s dead cinders.
You gently stroked them back to life;
It was something I could not fight.
I thought we were two halves making a whole,
But now she’s back and nobody knows,
Our thing was something of but a few short days,
And hardly even knowing it I got lost in your maize.
Your problems are all fixed,
But I got lost in the sw33t bitter mix,
Since her love you rekindled,
And now you marvel,
That your love had ever strain from such a creature divine,
She is your counterpart; your perfect outline.
The silken words you spun for me,
Are those of a long forgotten memory,
Because you found out that you didn’t even need me,
I’m a shadow of the past; left unseen,
The Sun has come out once more,
Making my shadow vanish on the floor.
