Shadow Poem by Shane Dickie

Shadow

When I cast my shadow,
It brings out the hidden sun,
By confronting my fears,
My best has just begun.
I will not run away from these
Fears but greet him at the door;
My strength is knowing the
Good in me outweighs my
Troubled mores.
I live to fight— I live to remember,
To forget; I live for chance
For what life has to offer and for what
I aim to take, put me in the center
Of the storm; I will prevail because
In my heart I know the challenge
And how I accept it
Is more important than the outcome
