Shadow Of Death Poem by Lisbon Tawanda

Shadow Of Death

I am an enemy of darkness,
Let there be light!
I am a lover of goodness,
And everything that is right,
Sometimes I fear the dark,
And sleep with my lights on,
I listen to the dogs bark,
Until the night is gone,
I have been to a valley,
Filled with death's shadow,
I have been in an alley,
That did not have a glow,
My spirit once left its abode,
The enemy came after my soul,
My trust was only in God,
He's going to save us all!
Faith was once full,
During my younger days,
I charged at the enemy like a bull,
And set his camp ablaze,
Until evil on me befell,
And struck my flesh and bones,
I went straight into hell,
Where every sinner moans,
I have been on death's verge,
And bound by fear,
I have been in death's cage,
But today I am here,
I lost Elizabeth,
And the fear grew,
How I resent death!
Some warriors it slew,
But I cannot be forever a slave,
Of this great fear,
The day I go down into the grave,
I'll be fighting with my spear
