Shadow Puppet Poem by Christopher Turner

Shadow Puppet

You invade, ostensibly able to conform.
But the sun's not as strong
As it was before you
altered the standards
with catechized looks
incensing maledictive me.
The early excitements
Still infuse tantrums,
but
shadows of a world
long gone
are all that I can cast.
