Shadows Poem by Olaniran Oluwasina

Shadows

I walk a lonely road
as forest creatures peep at me
wondering how it came to be
another life-form on these paths
treading steps so very strange
yet deja vu.....doth dance around
my sight is dim...like Frankenstein
all i own isn't wholly mine
an alien through the ages...aye
And shadows are my best companions

I weave a tale...Arachnid skills
from Thrace to Lydia...it's what i feel
no veils to shield my burning gaze
from looking deep at abyss edge
and all i see turns around me
my feet firmly frozen to this one spot
I seek reprieve.....the balm to ease
the thunderous currents that grieve my soul
my perceptions differ from thine....
that's why they call me Alien
but nothing judges.....they accept me
my companions....they Shadows be
