Shadows Of Age Poem by Rajpal Singh

Shadows Of Age

Rating: 5.0

Never feel I at all my age
When I see her eye to eye;
The hot wind of her youthful days
Blows away my cold days' sigh.

I feel then energetic and young,
And also as if I were of her age;
But cruel mirror mends my wrong
Unmasking the shadows of grown up age.

Disappeared my best season's mark'
I know, leaving me at past fifty;
Her blooming time is on the spark,
And she has not even approached her thirty.

Bemoan I my age time and again;
Alas! Time's wheel could be turned back,
My youthful days would visit again
My body with pretty looks to bedeck.
