Shame

God
If you have any compassion
I need your compassion tonight
My dirty soul reflects my dirty body
and I long to be purified again
In my search for love
I have only defiled myself
and now I hang my head in shame
in your presence
My iniquities hang like dark shadows
Everywhere I walk
the smell of my hot steamy lust
follows me
No one taught me love or dignity
so I became nothing more that a whore
for those who wanted to fulfill
some sordid desire
All the time believing that someone
someday would care
And now that someone has finally come
I am unable to look into his eyes
for the shame I feel
My body disgusts me

You asked God to forgive you, believe that he has, then forgive yourself and go love this person with a new and pure heart and believe you deserve his love in return
