Shantel Poem by Darlene Thomson

Shantel

Rating: 3.9

Vibrant, shining dancing through life,
You touched so many hearts and always eased strife.
Your friends all had a different nick name for you,
But family just called you angel.
16 years old, a full life ahead,
You brightened each day with your beautiful smile.
All of that was taken from us less than a week ago.
A young man hit and killed you,
because he was exceeding the speed limit.
Our lives are shattered, the quilt has a hole in it,
The place where you belong.
Our love for you lives on, we will never forget,
and we won't let this happen to another soul.
Watch over us from heaven, and touch our cheeks
now and then. Just as you will always be in our hearts.
With everybodies love.
