The day unfolds in flashes, swift, relentless,
Each moment chased by countless others near.
I grasp at thought, yet find it slips away,
A fragment scattered on the restless wind.
The streets, the screens, the endless flow of noise
Leave little space for stillness or reflection.
Faces and places blur into a haze,
And memories fracture like a broken glass.
I try to hold a name, a voice, a smell,
Yet it dissolves before my fingers close.
The past, once vivid, now exists in shards,
Each piece a whisper, fleeting and unsure.
Perhaps the mind can pause, if only brief,
To gather fragments into fragile whole.
Yet even then, the pulse of speed intrudes,
And life proceeds, relentless as a tide,
Leaving the self to chase what cannot stay,
And mourn the moments lost before they form.
