Shared Sins Poem by grace mariner

Shared Sins

Oh those demons we befriend!
The monsters we create of each other and ourselves
with our atrocities!
If we think on it too long, we will drown in the sorrow of it.
You were no worse nor better than me.
Monsters both, created by our losses in a hate filled world.
Perhaps that was the draw...
the thing that bound us so tightly together.
It defies all theories of polarity, of magnetic force.
Like mercury we splatter into glittery orbs only to dance
and pull together, becoming one for moments in time,
before splattering again.
Many lifetimes, the monsters dance lingers on.
I loved you then, I love you still,
even with your missing parts.
I am reconciled for this hour, the worst part of grieving past.
