Shattered Lullabies Poem by Cassandra Hooper

Shattered Lullabies

Rating: 5.0

What happens when love
Becomes the main source of pain
And the mention of their name
Drives you insane
All I hear is screaming
Its ringing in my ears
They're all these violent voices
That noone else hears
And I can feel their gazes
Like cold snow on my back
There's daggers in their eyes
They're all set to attack
But then you show up
I run towards where you stand
And then you dissapear
Your image turns to sand
Now shattering glass
Remains my lullaby
It used to be your voice
But now it makes me cry
All my thoughts
Are just one big regret
Being born
Is one I'd like to forget
So now these whispers in the dark
Bind me to where I lay
I spend the whole night
Praying they go away
Your voice is the key
To the lock on my heart
But its been closed for so long
Its falling apart
So goodnight
And forever goodbye
I told you if you left
That I would die
