Shattered Sally Poem by Helena Alvarez

Shattered Sally

Gazing up at the fading day
Pieces of me are blown away
For I will not live another day

My pieces are scattered upon the lifeless ground
Hiding under leaves
Will I ever be found?

The wind picks up speed
In the dark I see light
And that’s just what I need

The wind twirls and twirls
Pieces start to form together
Everything’s almost complete
So then I walk this lonely street

Then I see you from the corner of my eye
I go up to you
You touch me
I shatter into pieces once again
I guess its because I cant take this anymore
So my pieces stay shattered on the floor
And that’s where I’ll stay
Until next time the wind picks me up
I stay here, ‘til I die
Because I really don’t wanna cry anymore
