Shattering Bubbles Poem by Victor Okechukwu Anyaegbuna

Shattering Bubbles

Drifting as gravely, aside grey clouds on the run
With heavy boulders of chilled conquest
That the sun in all its sublime candour
Melts to create the blessings of rain.

I dreamt away the passions of life
In a commorancy that would caress my sore skin
And pacify my racing heart
When age begins its boundless assault
In the orgy of disappearing companions.

I lost the haunt of my great vision
The awesome Sacerdote!
I stood firm and made straight for the pulpit
But she muddened my path with pulpy fibres
And battled me to the front pew.

I tried to leap across the boulder
To pluck budding leaves of great dreams
But she slithered under the spooky table
To pick crumbs of dried wingless insects
That only deterred from her traded sunbow.

My passion and crave for the treasure trove
Only stirred her ardour for flaxen steel.
The glee that amorists and dummies stirred
While the frolic between her thighs lasted
Stuck her to mud and earthworms.

Food for the eagles she would not be
But rather juice for vicious biting tambolo.
In the midst of plenty, she craved for want
Pampered naivety and towed a dummy path
To nurture miscreants for tomorrow's tears.

A good woman may pull a man out of a pit
But the man who dares loves his way into the abyss
Where want ravages in the hades of her freak
Even with all the glamour of elegance and worth
That her lethargy could neither serve nor uphold.
