She - Poem by Peggy Barney

She gave me a tea cup
To remember her by
She gave me so much more
I can't deny
She showed power and strength
Courage and pride
She taught us something
We can all live by
With two small children, she'd never see grow up
It was why she never gave up
This must have been, her greatest pain
But you never heard her complain
And a husband that loved her dear
They shared each others tears and fears
She fought until her last day
I remember she just faded away
When God came and took her one day.
