She Is Perfect Poem by Victoria Ayres

She Is Perfect

But shes so beautifully broken,
With her jagged edges reflecting the sunlight
And I want to hold her, as she puts herself back together
The missing pieces making up her personality
Filling her not with emptiness, but with light filtered through the cracks
And I want to love her, not for the brokenness, but in spite of it
For she is handcrafted, pieced together with understanding and compassion
Unique in all ways, and woefully underestimated
And I want to show her companionship
A partnership like she has never seen, nor will ever find again
A completeness as her filtered light shines upon the darkness hiding behind this facade of smiles
As two incomplete broken jigsaw pieces fit together perfectly
I want to be hers as completely as she is mine
Forcing away the nightmares of the past leaving behind only that which is love
Dissolving the bitterness and enveloping her in the warmth of gratitude
For she is the center of my universe, and she shall know that she is perfect.
