She Was Poem by chris schwartz

She Was

She never gave up on Nothin'
Til there was nothing left
To Give.
Her last dying breath meant
Something
To the lives
She left to live.
Though her eyes grew tired
And weary
The big heart she had
Gave out
Lord she never gave up on Nothin'
Til there was nothing left
To give.

A couple kids of his
And Three more of hers
Damn the time
Went by so fast.
Until they finally met
One another
Then they knew their love
Would last.
He was built like a John Deere tractor
She was fragile, but still going strong,
Then they built their lives together
Though not
For very long.

She never gave up on nothin'
Til there was nothing left
To give.
Her last dying breath
Meant something
To the lives
She left to live.
The big puffy eyes
Are for her sacrifice
But she knows
That they will give
Just like she did
Til there was nothing
Left to give.
