Sheer Delight

Since man first saw the rising sun
Till all the world’s on fire
No angel’s ever had more fun
No human more desire

More than enthralled excited alive
Vibrant with joy galore
What could hinder a soul to thrive?
This side of Heaven’s Door

There’s much in life I’m sorry for
So much for just a thrill
But through God’s Son I’m more than sure
I’m in my Father’s will

Though still I’m destined once to die
To rest with those of old
I’ll rise beyond where eagles fly
And enter Heaven’s fold

Who but a child can understand?
Who but a sick soul healed?
Without the touch of love’s fair hand
Without The Truth revealed

Without the facts of Heaven’s Son
The King enthroned on high
Without life’s battles fought and won
And still afraid to die

But more than blessed than man should be
Before the end’s in sight
Salvation gives us eyes to see
And Heaven’s Gift of Light

By grace of God through selfless love
Obedience divine
Through Christ God’s Lamb risen above
Eternal life is mine
