Shell-Shorn Steps Poem by Richard G Berg

Shell-Shorn Steps

Taking shell-shorn steps
Towards the frisky sea. A girl
Who knows how to unknow
Her shoes, with a whimsical wobble
Awakens childhood
Lulling around her bare feet

From where you lie
At a gentle distance
Near enough to save her
Not close enough to see
Beyond this point
Her delicate deliberations
Call the sunshine
Into question
