Shine Poem by Ryan Lee Morris

Shine

You do unto yourself, as you do unto others,
Sharing your lot with your sisters and brothers.
Teaching those around you as you wish to be treated.
Lift them up to the Lord, don’t let them feel defeated.
What goes around comes around,
Get just what you give.
What you sow unto others, is the way you will live.
An eye for an eye, will leave you half blind.
Leave what you don’t need behind.
The past is there to reflect, not protect.
It can fill you with sorrow,
Rob you of tomorrow,
As it steals your today. It’s all gonna pass.
Everything’s gonna be okay!
When you spread lies, you spread weeds,
It’s only yourself you deceive,
Cause only in you, you believe.
Your pursuit of happiness,
Put yourself before other
Crushing the dream of another,
That’s no way to treat a brother.
Take a pause, reflect on your cause,
Your way of life breaks the universal laws.
Your treasure, it’s fools gold.
Let the truth be told.
We are all a treasure to behold.
Protect each other, fight for what’s right.
You’ll become the light……. And shine!
