Shocking To The Conscience Of Man - Poem by RIC BASTASA

a young woman
in maroon
dress with a
red scarf
sweeps the side
of the street
with her
broom

an old man walks
slowly
from the gate of
his house
across the street

and then
suddenly
one crazy guy
on his loud
motorcycle
passes by

i can't tell
you what
happened next

you're
eating apple pie...
